What is Xeomin?

Xeomin (pronounced “Zeo-min”) is a uniquely purified Smart Toxin that temporarily relaxes muscles contributing to wrinkles. Unlike other wrinkle relaxers, Xeomin is double-filtered only to contain the necessary ingredients for treatment, nothing extra. Xeomin works by blocking a chemical messenger in your body called acetylcholine, which normally tells your muscle to contract. When the muscle is temporarily relaxed, it can help soften fine lines on the face and prevent deeper lines from forming.

01. THE AESTHETIC CONSULT

If you’re new to Pure Health and working with our aesthetic injector Dr. Merola, the best step is to schedule a complimentary 15-min Aesthetic Consult (via phone or in person). This is an opportunity to discuss your skin goals and areas of concern. This is also a great time to ask any additional questions you have about Xeomin.

02. THE XEOMIN APPOINTMENT

An initial appointment is 30 minutes. Dr. Merola will do a facial assessment and mark up safety zones before injecting. The dosing will vary for each area being treated, but it can range from 6 to 20 units per area for most individuals.

03. THE RESULTS AND MAINTENANCE

Xeomin takes up to 14 days to completely kick-in. For new patients, a 2-week follow-up is required to check in with Dr. Merola and see if touch-ups are needed. Results can last up to 3 months.

Is Xeomin Well-Studied?

Xeomin has been demonstrated to be both safe and effective through two clinical trials, with over 12 years of real-world experience and being featured in over 360 relevant medical publications. A survey conducted with 10,000 patients three months following treatment showed high patient satisfaction, with over 90% of respondents stating they would use Xeomin again.

FAQs

 

  • Typically, a Xeomin® treatment doesn't cause much discomfort since we use ultra fine needles for injecting. The whole process usually takes no longer than 20 minutes and there is minimal downtime.

  • It's possible to notice visible smoothing just 3-4 days after getting the injection. Typically, the effect starts showing in less than a week and reaches its maximum at 30 days. In clinical trials, the smoothing effect lasted for up to 3 months, but it may vary for individual patients.

  • If you're planning on using Xeomin®, it's important to make sure there isn't an infection where you plan to get the injection, and that you're not allergic to any of the ingredients (botulinum toxin type A, human albumin). If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, it's best to avoid Xeomin.

    If you have neuromuscular disorders like ALS, myasthenia gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome, it's important to be aware of the potential risks of serious side effects.
